Miss Universe Singapore’s national costume this year is a 3D-printed fashion realness-slay-the-house-down—even if it has the bones of a Last of Us clicker.
Representing Singapore in the Miss Universe pageant this year, Carissa Yap strutted on stage in New Orleans in an outfit dreamed up by local fashion designer Frederick Lee. The fact that computation was used to form the veins of the orchid petal design is a technological feat—and a far cry from the 2018 costume that looked like something a tourist would buy from a Chinatown souvenir stall.

– A ball gown lined with faux otter fur and decorative koi-scale sequins.
